The Next Minute

Just because you were anxious or worried or afraid a minute ago doesn’t mean that you have to be a minute from now. Choose to let it go. Choose to move on. Choose to change your life. Life changes always happen in momentary increments anyway. Do it consciously.

A minute ago you may have been angry or frustrated or stressed. The destructive elements of those negative emotions do not have to continue into your day or continue to plague your life. You can (and this seems to be a secret to so many) –  you can choose to give those up. You can decide to allow yourself to see the positive things in your day and in your life and allow those things preeminence.

The world is the world. You can’t change it. People around you are as they are. You can’t change them. But you can change the way you respond and react to it all. You can focus on beauty and peace and patience and understanding and goodness and overwhelm all the negative that tries to get a foothold in your life.

Today – right this minute – think of something positive. Think of something beautiful. Think of something that brings you peace. Hold on to those all day long, even in the midst of what you cannot change.
