The Gratitude Attitude

If you have a problem deciding which direction you should be heading in your life, try listing the thing for which you are grateful. By focusing on what you really value in life – what you are thankful for – you will be given a greater sense of meaning and fulfillment that can serve to give you direction.

The idea is that, as you understand what gives you pleasure and satisfaction in life, heading in a direction that will bring more of that into your life is only logical. Knowing what you appreciate brings into focus who you are, what your talents are, what kinds of things you enjoy and will, hopefully, give you a hint as to what you should be doing.

It’s not possible, of course, to always find an occupation that “fits like a glove” with what you like about your life in the past and in the present, but narrow your search to things that generally “fit.” That way your future will be filled with things that have proven themselves to be valuable to you.

Greed seems to outweigh gratitude in today's world. From politics to business to law, sports, entertainment, etc.

Every news story starts off with how much it cost, how much they made, or spent, who stole what, who got away with what, who snookered who.

I'm grateful for my life, my family, my faith and my friends. Thanks for being one.
