The "WHY"

Why?
If you truly want something but know you don’t have the skills necessary to make it happen, you will acquire the skills. Skills are simply a matter of studying, learning, practicing, more practicing perhaps, and doing. The converse is also true. If you have the skills but no desire to achieve, then all the skill in the world will do you no good.

The key, clearly, is the desire – the motivation – the wanting of whatever it is you are after enough to put in the time and the effort, sometimes the frustration – the work, to get there. Before you center in on a goal, be sure you know the WHY of doing it. Before you gather the tools and the skills and muster the energy, be clear on exactly WHY you want whatever you are after.

Success comes from knowing what you want to accomplish, what steps it will take to get there, putting the skills together. The energy – the passion and the purpose -  it will take to get it done comes from the “why” of it all.

Today – Take a look at your current goals. WHY do you want to accomplish them? Is the “why” enough to get you to where you want to be?
