Every Sunday we pray for peace - peace in the world (hasn't happened yet) and peace between people (often answered but ...) and peace within our spirits and souls. This last one is the most important even though it comprises only 1/7billionth of the earth's population. In theory, if each of the 7 billion people on earth had internal peace, there
WOULD be peace on earth and between individuals.
WOULD be peace on earth and between individuals.
But peace is illusive. Even the definition is a bit vague. But we all know it when we see it or experience. If just feels "right."
We don't need to resolve every conflict in our lives to experience peace. We don't have to solve all of our problems. Peace comes when, in the midst of conflict and in the midst of problems we are able to let them go (when I was a child I remember our minister say, "Let go and let God..."). THAT is one of the keys to being happy in life - being at peace.
Peace is available to each one of us if we practice the habit of letting things go. Things may work out right or they may not, but fretting over them does absolutely no good. In time all will somehow work itself out. Be at peace. Practice being at peace. It's really the only way to go.
