Who – What – How do you think you are? A famous proverb suggests that “as a person thinks in his heart, so is he” (applies to females, too, of course). What you dwell on, what you think about most, what you can’t get out of your mind either determines who you are currently or how you will most likely be in the future. If you fill your mind with gloom and doom – pessimistic thoughts – thoughts of failure and disaster – of crisis looming, you will be (or become) a pessimistic, dour person. And it doesn’t take much of that kind of concentrated negativity to profoundly affect everything you do. Moreover, people pick up your “aura” and help you achieve it by avoiding you or by sabotaging (probably unconsciously) whatever you are working on. Or worse, they adopt your frame of mind and, together, you spiral toward failure.
Fortunately, the opposite is true, too. If your mind is filled with good things – hope – expectation of good things coming your way – pride in a job well done – optimism about the future – those things come your way. And again, it doesn’t take much of that to rub off on others and they, in turn, make it all happen.
It’s one of those lessons in life that is repeatedly observable but seldom locks into our inner being. So we have to be conscious about it.
Today – push aside the negative and fill your life with thoughts positive and uplifting and hopeful. Then watch it happen.
