Whatever happens in life has an upside. It may not be immediately apparent , but it’s there. You’ve heard about people who were frustrated at missing a flight only to have that flight crash and the passengers die. That sort of thing happens all the time (not planes crashing – being spared, through inconvenience, from being in the wrong place at the wrong time). Suddenly missing the flight doesn’t seem so bad.
Everything we experience ought to be from that same perspective. When something goes wrong, that trouble may be preventing something disastrous from happening. And we never know when that system is working.
The next time you encounter frustration or trouble or your plans are messed up, see if you can see what good came from it. You won’t always be able to see it. It may be too subtle or to “unrelated.” But if you live with the suspicion that that kind of thing is a reality in your life, even hardships can be seen to have a golden lining.
